ALL STAR QUILTERS' GUILD
Reaching out to those in need has always been at the heart of quilting groups. The All Star Quilters' Guild has several on-going charitable projects.
Sophie's Circle collects doll clothes for 18" American Girl style dolls that are given to girls who are being adopted into a new family. Vicki Zoller held a workshop where some of the All Star members sewed dresses. You can see them if you click here.
The All Star Quilters’ Guild shows its generosity in many ways; one of which is donating quilts to various charitable organizations. The list is determined by the Community Service Chairperson, but as of 2020, is the following: Community Hospice of Northeast Florida Pedscare; “daniel kids”; Safe Harbor Boys Home, Hart Felt Ministries, Quilts of Valor, Nemours Children’s Hospital “Me Dolls” and Sophie’s Circle.
Perhaps you are considering making a quilt to donate but don’t know what size to make it. Here is a chart that lists general sizes of each category of quilts.
Crib 36” x 45”
Wheelchair Lap 36” x 45”
Lap 48” x 60”
Twin 65” x 88”
Remember, these are general sizes. If you have questions about a specific organization, please reach out to the Community Service Chairperson. Sizes are listed in the directory and are usually the minimum size desired. Quilt of Valor quilts are specifically 60” x 72”, whereas other organizations are more flexible.
